Kashmir observes Youm-e-Shuhada

Srinagar: Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir is being observed on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir as the whole valley is observing complete shutdown however Jammu remained normal.
On July 13, 1931, the troops of autocratic Dogra Maharaja had martyred twenty two Kashmiris outside the central jail in Srinagar while court proceedings against Abdul Qadeer were taking place. Qadeer had called upon Kashmiris to defy the Dogra rule, resulting in his imprisonment.
Mobile internet services are suspended in Kashmir and the down town areas are under complete siege. “We are not being allowed to even look outside,” a resident of Nowhatta are of Srinagar told Kashmir Reader.
Reports of complete shutdown have reached from all the ten districts of Kashmir. The call of the shutdown has been given by the frontline pro-freedom leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
