Srinagar: Expressing serious concern over the allegations levelled by militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba that the government forces were using chemical weapons in Kashmir and mutilating bodies of militants and civilians, AIP supremo and MLA Langate Abdul Rashid Sheikh has asked government to come clean over the issue.
In a statement issued here Thursday Rashid said the bodies of militants are found mutilated, especially in south Kashmir and their pictures spread on social media “which by all means deserves immediate attention and condemnation”.
He said that international laws and conventions demand due respect to bodies irrespective of their ideologies and circumstances of killing.
“It is duty of the state to tell the truth. Once someone is dead the animosity has to go. The mutilation of bodies is something which Kashmiris have been witnessing since long but the charges levelled by LeT regarding use of chemical weapons are something that can be ignored,” Rashid said.
Meanwhile, Rashid also condemned the “harsh and aggressive designs” expressed by Indian and Israeli Prime Ministers during Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel.
“The perception of so called Islamic terrorism and the cries of India and Israel being the victims of terrorism are nothing but an attempt to divert the attention from the burning issues of Palestine and Kashmir,” Rashid said.
