Inclement weather suspends Amarnath yatra

Srinagar: The Amarnath Yatra, which began yesterday, was suspended at Baltal and Chandanwari, the two main base stations for pilgrims, due to heavy rainfall, reports said on Friday.
As per reports due to the heavy rain and snowfall along the Yatra route the tracks have become too slippery for the pilgrims to continue.
Annual Amarnath Yatra began on Thursday and more 10 thousand devotees paid obeisance at the cave amid tight security. The yatra is for 40 days, and it will culminate on August 7.
