SRINAGAR: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the demise of Abdul Majeed Dar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pulwama who passed away yesterday. The deceased, a resident of Jagarpora, Handwara, was the cousin of MLA Kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Dar.
In her condolence message, the Chief Minister expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Police recovers money stolen from foreign tourist
Srinagar: Police has recovered Rs 3,72,000 and 400 Euros stolen from a foreign tourist in Srinagar.
A statement issued here by police said that a Dutch tourist, Christain Cornelis Jacopus, complained to Police Station Nishat about the theft of money from the guest house he was putting up at in Ishbar Nishat.
Police investigation zeroed in on a woman working as house maid at the guest house and the stolen amount was recovered on her disclosure, the statement said.
Imran Ansari visits slain DSP’s home
Srinagar: Minister for Youth Service and Sports, Technical Education and Information Technology Molvi Imran Raza Ansari Saturday visited the home of slain DSP Mohammad Ayoub in Nowpora here to express his sympathies with the bereaved family.
Ansari condemned the killing of the police officer calling it a heinous act, “which has no parallel in the history of Kashmir.” He expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the family members of the DSP.
Ansari also visited Jagarpora Handwara, the native village of Abdul Majeed Dar (Judge) who passed away Friday after prolonged illness.
Ansari paid tributes to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the family members including MLA Kupwara and Naseer Ahmad Dar (Judge).
