Srinagar: Authorities on Thursday imposed restrictions in all the major towns of south Kashmir district of Pulwama soon after three militants were killed in an encounter at Kakapora.
The three local militants were killed during a gunfight with government forces in New Colony area of Kakapora.
Sources said that to prevent people from protesting against the militant killings authorities imposed restrictions on the movement of the people.
“Restrictions will remain imposed in Pulwama, Kakapora, Pampore and Awantipora areas of the district,” Deputy Commissioner Pulwama GM Dar told Kashmir Reader.
He also said that higher educational institutions have also been closed in the district.
Meanwhile, all shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed in Pulwama district to mourn the killings of three militants.
