Clashes erupt amid gunfight in Kakapora

Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after forces cordoned off the area and militants fired upon them.
Reports said that cordon was launched after an input about the presence of militants at New Colony Kakapora.
Sources said that protesters started pelting stones on forces who used tear gas shells to disperse them triggering clashes.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Chaudhary told Kashmir Reader that firing between the hiding militants and forces has started in the area.
