Pampore shuts for 5th consecutive day

Pampore: A Complete shutdown is being observed for the 5th consecutive day Tuesday in Pampore town to mourn the killing of three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants including one local.
Three LeT militant Junaid Matto of Khudwani Kulgam, Adil Ahmad Mir of Pampore and Waseem Ahmad of Heff Shopian were killed in a gun battle with government forces at Arwani village of Kulgam district on Friday last.
Two civilians were also killed during the clashes between government forces and protesters near the encounter site at Arwani village on that day.
All shops, business establishments and schools are closed in Pampore town since Friday.
Eyewitness told Kashmir Reader that hundreds of people including some pro-freedom activists have reached the town to pay tributes to slain Adil Mushtaq Mir.
