Pak army, locals celebrate cricket win along LOC

BARAMULLA: Soon after Pakistan cricket team defeated India in ICC Champions Trophy final match by 180 runs, the Pakistani army posted along the line of control in Uri fired hundreds of bullets in air to celebrate the win while the local villagers of Pakistani administration Kashmir (PaK) living along the line of control celebrated the victory throughout the night with fire crackers and beating drums.
Residents of Churanda, Silikote, Hathlanga, Soura, Tilawari, Balkote, Gawalta and other said that they heard the heavy gun shots and sound of big fire crackers from the other side of LOC soon after Pakistan’s victory and it continued till Monday morning, as people of other side were shouting slogans in favour of their team while beating drums and bursting fire crackers.
Meanwhile, sources said that people on this side of Line in Uri and its neighbouring villages also burst fire crackers to celebrate Pakistan’s win for hours, while some were seen beating tin roofs of houses.
People also celebrated Pakistan win throughout the night in other parts of northern Kashmir. Reports of people bursting fire crackers on roads and streets came from Rafiabad, Sopore, Baramulla, Sangrama, Pattan, Palhalan, Narvaw, Tangmarg, Kunzar, Handwara, Langate, Kupwara, Kralpora, and Lolab.
