SHOPIAN: Continuing their attacks on Shopian villages, army soldiers allegedly vandalised Saidpora-Payin village on Monday evening, damaging dozens of vehicles which the villagers had parked in streets, courtyards and on road sides.
A resident of the village (name withheld) told Kashmir Reader that as soon as the army soldiers reached the village, they started smashing parked vehicles.
Villagers added that forces also ransacked about eight residential houses. “They broke windows, window panes, other stuff without any stone throwing or provocations,” a local resident said.
Locals added that there was fear and terror in the village when forces were abusing and shouting at people. “We hid inside our houses and some youth left the village because of the terror of the army,” an elderly man from the village said.
