One village, one slogan, two slain

Srinagar: Soon after Naseer Ahmad Sheikh was laid to rest in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Friday, pro-freedom slogans were raised during the funeral procession of a policeman, Shahzad Dilawar Sofi killed in a militant attack in Hyderpora area of Srinagar last evening, sources said.
Naseer was killed during force’s firing in Rangreth area of Srinagar while as Shahzad was killed in militant attack in Hyderpora late last evening. Both Naseer and Shahzad were from Ashtengoo village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
People raised pro-freedom slogans during Naseer’s funeral and later Shahzad was also laid to rest amid pro-freedom slogans, local sources said.
Meanwhile, to pay homage to Constable Shazad son of Mohammad Dilawar Sofi, a wreath laying ceremony was held in DPL Srinagar, police said.
