KTMF calls for Kashmir bandh on Saturday

Srinagar: Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) Thursday called for Kashmir Bandh on Saturday 17th June against proposed implementation of GST in the J&K state.
“GST will affect the Article 370. KTMF will not allow State Govt to implement this in the state,” Chairman KTMF, Bashir Ahmad Rather, said.
Pertinently, the state government has convened a special session of assembly on Jun 17 to pave way for the implementation of the GST.
KTMF asked the JK Government to shun the way of implementing Indian form of Goods and Services Tax in the state or else face agitation.
“We see deciet in state’ plan of implementing GST. We have told the finance minister that it’s direct implementation will dilute disputed nature of the JK,” Mohammad Yaseen Khan, president KTMF told reporters.
Yaseen said traders would prefer to face loses if it is implemented but won’t let the state government impose the dictacts of the Indian government.
