Doctors at GMC protest against ‘police highhandedness’

Srinagar: Doctors staged a protest at Government Medical College (HMC) Srinagar on Wednesday against the thrashing of a doctor allegedly at the hands of police.
According to the protesting post-graduate students and resident doctors the incident happened late last evening.
They alleged that a doctor was thrashed and manhandled by police while he was on duty in the SMHS Hospital.
Quoting doctors reports said that a policeman ruthlessly beat up Owais Wani, a third year post graduate student.
As per reports Owais is injured and undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
