Firing in south Kashmir’s Qazigund, 1 injured

Srinagar: One person was injured after a firing incident took place near Vessu Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
A police statement soon after the firing incident said that Arif a resident of Bakshiabad, Anantnag who is working in a construction company at Banihal reported at Public Health Centre Vessu that at around 5 in the morning when he was on way to Banihal at Vessu unknown militants fired upon the two forces vehicles which were moving ahead of his car No. JK-02BJ 6600.
“The fire missed the target and hit his car and he was injured in the back,” police statement said.
As per police though he was stable so far he has been referred to SMHS, Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Police said that about 20 empty cases of AK ammunition have been recovered from the spot.
Earlier it was alleged that CRPF men fired upon a car after the driver ignored their signal to stop near Vessu Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
