Srinagar: Chairman Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Syed Ali Geelani, on Thursday issued a fervent appeal to the people to donate towards Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. He said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has always pursued a “noble mission of helping unprivileged”.
Appealing for charitable donations in the month of Ramadan, Geelani said that this was the month of “patience, tolerance and sympathy” and the Muslims all over the world “donate generously for their downtrodden brethren”.
In a statement issued by the conglomerate here, Geelani said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir was on the “forefront of the freedom struggle of Kashmir”. The organization, he said, was active on other social fronts like running blood bank needy patients and helping people in times of disaster and natural calamity.
Geelani appealed people to donate generously their Zakat, Sadaqat and other donations for the help of those “whose earnings have greatly been affected by the current wave of oppression”.
