Four ‘cannabis handlers’ acquitted by Bandipora Court after two years

Bandipora: A court here has acquitted four persons charged by the Hajin police station of being “found in the procession of three kilograms (of ) Charas (Cannabis) at Hakbara, Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District on 12th of March 2015”.
In the operative part of the judgment, the Principal and Secessions Judge observed that the evidence of the prosecution was shady and full of contradictions. Court also observed that mandate of 52-57 of NDPS Act has not been followed and prosecution’s case thus was being doubtful. So, all the four accused were acquitted.
