SRINAGAR: The joint resistance leadership on Tuesday criticised the authorities for not allowing people to reach Tral to pay tributes to the slain militants there.
In a statement, the leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik castigated the state administration for imposing curfew and arresting resistance leaders.
“The restrictions, crackdown against leaders and activists and imposing curfew are illogical which will give rise to chaos and uncertainty in the state. Indian forces are carrying genocide under a well-thought-out plan” they said.
Maintaining that Indian leadership is misleading the world opinion, they said Kashmir is not a law and order problem but a political issue. The people are peacefully pursuing their right to self-determination for the last seven decades, they said.
The leadership demanded immediate release of all detainees and lifting of curbs and said “these repressive measures would prove counterproductive and won’t serve any purpose for Indian authorities”
