Students clash with forces in Srinagar

Srinagar: The students of Gandhi Memorial College Srinagar and MPML higher secondary school Baba Demb Thursday held protests and clashed with forces, reports said.
The students of the two institutions started marching on the main road demanding the release of their colleague who was arrested yesterday during the clashes.
The protesting students raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and as they took to main road, police and para-military forces deployed there intercepted them triggering clashes, local sources said.
Government forces fired tear smoke, pepper gas shells to disperse the protesting students who kept pelting stones and bricks on the forces.
Clashes were going on in the area when reports last came in.
Student community of Kashmir is holding protests since April 17, afte at least 60 students were injured in forces action in Pulwama on April 15.
