Baramulla: The Karwan- e-Aman bus service resumed on Monday after a fortnight following a temporary halt last week due to a suspected infiltration bid in the Kaman Post area where the passengers walk over the Line of Control to enter the Pakistan-administered side of Kashmir.
The army claimed that a soldier was injured in the gunfight that triggered a massive combing operation spanning more than two days. Due to the search operation that coincided with the scheduled bus run, the passengers were turned back from Uri last Monday. The bus plies only on Mondays and if due to some situation, the passage is halted, the passengers are asked to resume the journey next week. The officials said as many as 59 passengers including 45 returnees and 14 fresh passengers from this side of Kashmir crossed the LoC and reached the other side.
