SOPORE: Seventh Urs of famous mystic Ahad Bub was observed with devotion and fervour at his residence in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Wednesday.
Scores of people from different parts of the Kashmir including women and children came to celebrate the Urs of Ahad Sahib and offered special prayers at his grave located near his residence with recitations of the verses of holy Quran.
The roads in the town witnessed heavy traffic jams as thousands of devotees and disciples of Ahad sahib thronged his home in Noorbagh area of Sopore in north Kashmir.
His grandson Gulrez Mushtaq said, “We have devotees coming from not only various parts of Kashmir but also from outside the state.” Ahad Bub was born on June 30, 1930 at the Ashpeer Mohalla of Sopore. He died at the age of 80 on July 26, 2010 after a brief illness. His family and followers observe his Urs on 13th day of Shaban every year.
