Infiltration bid foiled in Uri, claims army

BARAMULLA: The army on Wednesday claimed that they foiled an infiltration bid in Rampora Sector of Boniyar in Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.  In a statement army claimed that a group of militants tried to sneak into this side of Kashmir at Torna Sector along the line of control on Tuesday night but the alert troops of Indian army challenge the militants and pushed them back to the other side. The army said that they recovered three bags from the spot, probably left back by the infiltrators. There were no casualties in the incident.
The army said an alert has been sounded along the LoC as the troops started search operation in the area. The police have not been informed about the incident by the army.  On Sunday night a trooper Kamal Kant was injured when army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid at chokas post along the LOC in Uri area. The army launched a massive search operation in the area after the incident.
