Tral: At least 20 people were injured, some of them critically, when a vehicle turned turtle in south Kashmir’s Tral area on Wednesday afternoon.
A passenger vehicle (JK13-9897) on its way to Tral from Laam village turned turtle near Dhobiwan Tral.
The injured passengers were immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Tral.
Among the injured, four persons were referred to Bone and Joints Surgery hospital and SMHS Hospital Srinagar for further treatment, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tral Dr Gobinder Singh told Kashmir Reader.
Soon after the accident took place, locals and police rescued and injured were shifted to SDH Tral hospital.
Police Tral registered a case in this regard.
Local residents said the accident was caused by the improper and unfinished road repairs.
The road is so narrow at places that drivers have to risk their lives while making way for others vehicles to pass.
Moreover, the locals said that the vehicle was overloaded.
