SRINAGAR: Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K on Tuesday held its 28th Extension Council Meeting Shalimar Campus, Srinagar.
The meeting was chaired by Prof Nazeer Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K and attended among others by Director Extension SKUAST-K & SKUAST-J, Director Floriculture, Government of J&K, Deans of Subject Matter Faculties, Heads of Divisions, Programme Coordinators of KVKs and four Progressive farmers.
Vice Chancellor laid stress on the outreach of the transferable technologies to the end-users, hands-on training and skill development programmes for sharpening the skills & employability and laying of OFTs, FLDs and awareness programmes in farmers field for popularisation of crop varieties, animal breeds and technologies developed by the university. While welcoming the participants, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed emphasized the need to review and disseminate the technologies generated through hard work in various disciplines of agriculture, livestock , fisheries and other allied sectors.
On the occasion, a DVD and profile on Mausam Seva Vibagh was released on the occasion. Various farmer-oriented technologies were planned for dissemination to farmers in all districts of Kashmir and Ladakh by KVKs and the Development Departments through appropriate methodologies.
