Srinagar: Over a dozen students including girls were injured after they clashed with government forces in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Local sources said that students of Degree College Handwara and Higher Secondary school Handwara staged pro-freedom protests.
Forces used tear gas shells to disperse the protesting students, sources said adding it triggered clashes in the area.
Reports said that over a dozen students including girls sustained injuries during the clashes but not critical.
Meanwhile, reports of student protests have also reached from Newa and Ratnipora areas of Pulwama district.
Student protests in the valley have intensified after 60 college students were injured in force’s action in Pulwama on April 15.
