SRINAGAR: The 41st Research and Extension Advisory Committee (REAC) meeting (Kharif 2017) was held at SKUAST-Kashmir, Shalimar under the Chairmanship of Prof. Nazeer Ahmed. Vice-chancellor.
Vice-Chancellor in his inaugural address highlighted the research outcomes of the university in various disciplines and emphasized to reach each and every farmer with the basket of technologies in order to be able to improve agricultural growth and profitability and economic status of the farmers. Among other important issues, the meeting reviewed action taken on the decisions of the 39th REAC (Kharif 2016). Three new genotypes – one in fodder maize and two in rice – were decided to be tested under minikits across all districts of the valley. Three books in English and Urdu were released by the Vice-Chancellor on the occasion.
Earlier Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Director Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir spelled out the aim and purpose of the meeting and presented the agenda points for discussions.
The meeting was attended by Directors and Deans of the University, Directors of the Development line Departments, Heads of the divisions of the University, Chief and District officers of the line Departments, Programme Coordinators of the KVKs and other Scientists and officers of the University.
