Police announce bounty on Hizb militant

Srinagar: Days after militants carried out a deadly attack in Kulgam killing five policemen and two JK Bank guards, the police on Wednes day announced a cash reward of 10 lakh rupees for information on one of the alleged assailant Umer Majid.
Majid, a suspected Hizbul Mujahideen militant, is believed to be one of the militants involved in the attack on the bank’s cash-van.
The authorities have posted the reward posters in many areas of Kulgam district in South Kashmir seeking information about the accused.
The 22-year-old Majid, a local of Suchi village, was identified by police as one of the attackers during the investigations which included the driver of the van that came under the attack, claimed by Hizbul Mujahideen.
According to police, another attacker has been identified as Ishfaq Palla, an over ground worker for Hizb. The police have launched a hunt to nab the two attackers identified after the attack was carried out.
