Will protest if forces don’t stop targeting students: Teachers’ Forum

Baramulla: Chairman Teachers Forum, Abdul Qayoom Wani, said on Saturday said that teachers will take to roads if government forces did not stop the use of force against students and teachers in Kashmir. Wani is also the president of the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Wani was speaking to reporters at Dak Bungalow Baramulla on Saturday at the end of a daylong convention with all zonal and tehsil presidents of the forum in Baramulla district.
He said that the forum observed how government forces “are thrashing our teachers and students inside the schools and colleges”. “If forces do not stop, we will stage strong protests,” he said.
“Students are the future of a nation and we saw how forces entered into colleges and schools in South Kashmir and provoked students to take to streets. We strongly condemn such actions“.
