Shutdown in Pulwama against ransacking by forces

PULWAMA: A shutdown was observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town against the ransacking of houses and vehicles allegedly by government forces at Chatpora on Friday.
Shops and business establishments in the town remained shut while public and private transport remained off the roads.
Residents of Chatpora alleged that CRPF personnel ransacked houses and damaged several parked vehicles, a claim refuted by police officers.
Earlier after Friday prayers, clashes had broken out between protesters and government forces at many places in Pulwama including Chatpora, Muran Chowk and Rajpora Chowk.
