HR institutions must take serious note: Jama’at-e-Islami

SRINAGAR: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir on Saturday said the statement of VHP leader Praveen Togadia “clearly shows the vicious plan of the Hindutva forces which virtually rules India”.
Jama’at in a statement said Togadia’s suggestion to use carpet bombing of the areas in which encounters take place encourages the killing of innocent civilians by forces.
“Earlier National General Secretary of BJP Ram Madhav justified the civilian killings by saying that ‘everything is fair in love and war’. Another leader Subramaniam Swami suggested deporting Kashmiri Muslims to Tamil Nadu and keeping them in refugee camps. Likewise, Chander Prakash, a BJP minister, suggested using bullets against the stone pelters. All such statements cumulatively justify inhumane, illegal, and immoral actions of the forces personnel which they have been committing here for long,” it said.
Jama’at said under such circumstances, the declaration of probes by the state-sponsored enquiry commissions is nothing but a “deception and fraud”. “These commissions have proved futile in the past also,” it said.
Strongly condemning the “communally charged” statement of Togadia, Jama’at-e-Islami has appealed all human rights institutions and the world community to take serious notice of such type of remarks and take effective measures to stop the civilian killing going on in “this hapless part of the globe”.
