Secretariat employees on strike, announce boycott on durbar re-opening

Srinagar: The civil secretariat employees have decided to boycott inaugural ceremony on the re-opening of durbar move offices in Srinagar on May 8 on the biennial shifting of the offices to the summer capital.
The Civil secretariat Coordination Committee (CSCC) president Gulam Rasool Mir, in a meeting said that continuation of strike was agreed by the employees to press for demands like detachment of attached staff, resolving of Estates issues and constitution of committee to inquire into the orders issued by director estates with regard to change of accommodation, fresh allotments of quarters or change of quarters on mutual basis without following proper procedure, review of career progression and related service issues.
It was decided in the meeting that the employees would not engage in official business in the offices of civil secretariat for next two days but they would close records of the offices to keep that ready to dispatch to Srinagar in connection with Darbar Move.
