Army kills civilian in Kupwara clashes

Srinagar: A protester was killed in Panzgam area of Kupwara Thursday after army fired upon protesters who were demanding the bodies of slain militants killed during a gunfight earlier in the day.
Police sources confirmed the killing of Mohammad Yousuf son of Khazir Mohammad, a resident of Panzgam.
They said that Bhat was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that Bhat was hit by a bullet.
Two militants and three army soldiers were killed after militants attacked an army garrison in Panzgam area of the district.
People hit the streets soon after the news about the killing of two militants had spread in the area.
Sources said that protests have intensified after the killing of the civilian.
