NC, PDP condemn PDP leader’s killing

Another reflection of the alarming state of affairs: NC
Srinagar: Condemnations have poured in from several pro-India parties against the killing of PDP District President Pulwama, Advocate Abdul Gani Dar (Vakil).
J&K’s finance minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, called it “spilling of innocent blood” which was “going to devour Kashmir”. National Conference condemned Dar’s killing “in the strongest of terms” and extended condolences to his family for their inconsolable loss. Several ministers in Mehbooba Mufti government have also expressed “deep shock and grief” over the incident.
“I have no words to express my grief at the dastardly murder of Abdul Gani Vakil, who was such a noble and pious soul,” Drabu said in a statement. “At this moment all I can say that nothing is worth the life taken away so brutally”.
NC spokesperson, Junaid Azim Mattu, said that the party stands in solidarity with the bereaved family. “We express solidarity with Dar Sahab’s family and express our grief at this tragic incident. May God give the family the strength to bear this loss”, the spokesperson said in a statement issued by the party in Srinagar on Monday said.
He said that Dar’s killing was yet another reflection of the alarming state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, “thanks to the PDP-BJP Government which has plunged the State into total chaos, uncertainty and turmoil”.
“The PDP-BJP government and especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should acknowledge their shameful role in bringing the State to this situation and take moral responsibility for the continuously deteriorating situation in the State,” Mattu said. “While Mehbooba Mufti goes around begging from office to office in New Delhi for her Government to be saved, lives are being lost in Kashmir and alienation is at an all time high. She should introspect and resign without any further delay”.
Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Minister for Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, and Minister of State for Forest, Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, expressed deep shock and grief over the incident. Conveying their condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family, the ministers termed Dar as a “dedicated social worker”.
