Srinagar: National Conference on Saturday paid tributes to its senior leader, Ali Mohammad Naik, who passed away after a prolonged illness.
Expressing sorrow over Naik’s demise, party leaders Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Omar Abdullah, said that Naik’s demise had created a vacuum in the state’s politics that was hard to fill. The leaders extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Highlighting Naik’s contributions to the state and the party, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said Naik’s will and courage, despite his prolonged illness, was a reflection of his dedication and conviction in serving the party and the people he strived hard to represent.
Omar Abdullah said Naik’s legacy was that of honesty, perseverance and persistence – virtues that should be emulated by all public servants for the betterment of the state and the society. Omar Abdullah said the party had lost an honest, virtuous and visionary leader in Naik.
