Jammu: Day after the People’s Democratic Party skipped the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected members of Legislative Council to protest against “poaching” of one of the six seats in the House by its ally, Bharatiya Janata Party the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Madhav on Friday held a meeting with J&K Finance Minister and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Haseeb Drabu, sources said.
The meeting assumes significance after visible cracks in the PDP-BJP coalition.
Right wing BJP is a coalition partner of the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir where pro-freedom protests are order of the day.
BJP leaders Avinash Rai Khanna and Satpal Sharma were also among those who attended the meeting held at the BJP office Jammu, they said.
Pro-freedom protests have increased manifold in the region since the BJP-PDP Government came to power in 2015.
