Asks govt to come clean on the utterances
SRINAGAR: Describing the assertions of BJP leader and minister Chandra Prakash that bullets are the only way to deal with protestors as a move to vitiate atmosphere in the valley, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) spokesperson Thursday said the utterances betray the mindset and “politics of exploitation” of the minister, who seems to be more interested in issuing annoying statements rather than talking of restoring peace and normalcy in the valley.
Stating that the utterances were sure to vitiate the atmosphere again in the valley, the spokesperson lashed out at BJP and asked the government to come clean on the statements, “as the situation in the valley has already deteriorated to a great extent due to the mishandling of the situation, arising from time to time, in the valley on the part of ruling dispensation in the State.”
The spokesperson said that instead of taking effective measures for restoration of normalcy, the BJP minister has started provoking people, “which suits his party”.
He said the efforts should be made to bring peace and normalcy in the valley rather than creating a situation, which can be detrimental to peace initiatives.
