Kangan students protest on Srinagar-Leh highway

Kangan: The students of Government higher secondary School Hariganiwan and the students of Government higher secondary Chatergul in Kangan area of Gandrerbal district Thursday staged protests in solidarity with other students of the valley against alleged highhandedness of government forces on the students across Kashmir valley especially Pulwama last week.
Chanting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans the students GGHS Hariganiwan came out from school premises and staged protests on Srinagar-Leh highway.
However after staging sit in for some time they dispersed peacefully and went back to their classes.
Similarly, the students of GHSS Chatergul Kangan also staged protests in their locality.
Pertinently the academic activities in the two higher secondary schools including GGHS and BHSS of Kangan town were shut by the authorities for today.
Meanwhile the students of Government Middle School Surfraw Gund blocked Srinagar-Sonamarg road and protested against non-availability of teaching staff.
