Srinagar: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) accused Indian government for killing young Kashmiris with impunity and disallowing mourning and congregational prayers. Referring to Sajad Hussain Sheikh’s ‘cold-blooded murder’ at Batamaloo, JKLF chief Yasin Malik described it as a demonstration of state sponsored terrorism.
According to a statement, Malik avoiding heavy restrictions travelled to Batamaloo by foot to reach to slain Sajad Hussain’s family. He met with the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them. Speaking on the occasion, JKLF chairman said that Indian rulers, their Kashmiri stooges and trigger happy forces and police kill our kith and kin with impunity and then even mourning and congregational prayers were disallowed.
He said that innocent teenager was killed without any provocation and today his parents and other people were not allowed to hold congregational prayers at his graveyard. He said that banning mourning and sacred rituals amounts to interference in religious affairs.
Malik later visited SMHS hospital and enquired about the well-being of students who were injured by police and CRPF yesterday. He also met with the critically injured girl Iqra Sideeq who was hit in her head by CRPF troopers, the statement said. While condemning the onslaught of police and other forces on students, JKLF chairman said that shameless police and their political masters should feel some embarrassment on the horrific scenes of shelling and firing inside female institutions of which many images have been published in newspapers.
