Again, Internet blackout in Kashmir

Srinagar: The mobile Internet services were snapped for the second time this month in Kashmir as student protests erupted across Kashmir here on Monday.
The Internet was shut around 4 pm after scores of protesting students posted pictures and videos of protests and clashes online on social media such as Facebook and WatsApp.
Earlier, the mobile Internet services were suspended along with broadband services for four days after protests erupted in the valley on the by-elections day on April 9 leading to death of 8 civilians.
Last year, the government shut down the Internet about 10 times; including a six-month long ban on prepaid Internet services, according to Interntshutdowns.in.
