Policemen advised to not visit homes

Srinagar: After several incidents of alleged militant attacks against family members of policemen in the Valley, the police has sent an advisory to all police personnel, sources told Kashmir Reader on Sunday. Policemen have been advised to exercise caution while moving around and especially when visiting their hometown.
The advisory was sent on Sunday after militants reportedly barged into the homes of two policemen in south Kashmir. The advisory said that policemen especially from South Kashmir should take extreme precaution while visiting their homes.
“There have been a few recent incidents in the Valley where terrorists, anti-national and anti-social elements have tried to cause damage to the life and property of police personnel,” the advisory reads.
The policemen were also directed to avoid visiting their homes. “The policemen are advised not to visit their homes for the next few months as their personal security is of paramount importance,” the advisory says. All unit heads have been asked to convey the advisory to their men on urgent basis.
