Omar too demands Governor’s rule in J&K

Srinagar: National Conference working president and former J&K chief miniater, Omar Abdullah on Monday strongly endorsed his father’s demand of imposing Governor’s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Omar told reporters in Jammu that for the first time in 27 years (of insurgency), police comes out with an advisory telling its men and officers not to visit their homes.
“They can’t go to their homes, can’t meet their families. This Government can’t hold elections. Elections to the parliamentary seat (Anantnag), which Mehbooba Mufti had left, can’t be held. What more evidence is needed about deteriorated law and order situation,” quoting Omar, Hindustan Times said.
The situation has deteriorated to such an extent that except darkness, nothing is visible, he added.
He further said that “despite such a hopeless situation, Mehbooba Mufti is shamelessly continuing in office”.
Omar said that soon after Srinagar Lok Sabha by-polls results his father Farooq Abdullah had rightly demanded imposition of Governor’s Rule.
