Local Jama’at leader arrested after PDP worker’s house ransacked in Kokernag

Srinagar: Police have arrested a local Jam’at-e-Islami leader in south Kashmir after a PDP worker’s residence was allegedly ransacked by unidentified gunmen.
A PDP worker Mohammad Abdullah’s residence was ransacked by unidentified gunmen last evening at Soaf Shali village of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, local sources said.
They said that Abdullah was also thrashed by the unidentified gunmen.
Soon after the incident Police arrested Nawshad Ahmad, a local Jama’at leader.
They said that Nawshad is the local Amir-e-Halqa of Jama’at.
