Army presence in Pulwama College triggers protest

Pulwama: Government Degree College Pulwama in south Kashmir was closed Wednesday immediately after hundreds of protesting students raised hue and cry over the presence of army personnel in the college premises.
Sources said that as the students were busy in their class work after two days, they suddenly saw an army vehicle (Casper) entering the premises.
The scared students immediately informed the college authorities and started raising pro-freedom and anti-army slogans, they said.
“The students rushed towards the army Casper and started damaging it however, the personnel remained sitting inside it and did not retaliate,” eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader.
Sensing the grim situation, the college authorities quickly announced the closing of the College and directed the students to leave, they added.
