Srinagar: A Kashmiri student, friend of Maldivian model who was found dead in her college in Bangladesh last month has been accused of murder by the father of the deceased model, reports said.
Muhammad Atif, father of Raudha Athif has lodged a case with the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday afternoon and has accused Sirat Parveen Mahmud, 21, classmate of her daughter.
Athif is an international model and has appeared on cover of Vogue India magazine last year. She was an MBBS student in her sophomore year at Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College, where she was found dead.
Her father has mentioned in complaint that her classmate broke open the door and lowered the hanging body, reports said. He wrote in the complaint that the classmate might have strangled the model.
Sirat Parveen Mahmud from Kashmir was a friend of Athif at the dorm and lived in adjacent rooms.
According to her earlier testimony, reports said ,she was the last person to see Raudha Athif alive.
Athif’s father as per reports said, “I am certain my daughter was murdered. There were fingerprints around her neck. From the looks of these prints, Raudha was choked to death by a right-handed person,”
“If she had committed suicide, then why was her body taken down before the police arrived? This is a murder,” he is quoted as saying.
