Cong, NC leaders raise ‘anti-India’ slogans in Anantnag

Srinagar: Local leaders of Congress and National Conference, the prime Opposition parties in Jammu & Kashmir, Tuesday raised anti-India slogans outside the District Collectorate office in Anantnag, reports said on Tuesday.
The political workers and leaders could be heard shouting ‘Indian democracy murdabad’ (death to Indian democracy). The slogans were raised over the deferment of Anantnag by-poll to May 25, ANI reported.
The Anantnag Lok Sabha by-election, which was slated on April 12, was postponed to May 25. The decision was taken by Election Commission on Monday night, in view of the very poor poll percentage in Srinagar by-poll held on April 9.
