KU’s cricket, volleyball teams make it to finals

SRINAGAR: Kashmir University’s cricket team continued its unbeaten run at the first State Universities Championship by advancing to the final with a seven-wicket victory over Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in the semi-final on Friday at Jammu
Batting first, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University was shunted out for just 58 runs. BGSBU failed to play their full quota of 20 allotted over.
Kashmir University, Irfan Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers claiming three wicket haul,Salim and Zakir also bagged two wickets each.
In reply KU easily chased down the target with ease in 10 overs losing just three wickets. Usaid top scored with 25 runs.
Earlier, KU’s men Volleyball team also booked their place in finals.
KU’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Khursheed Andrabi, Registrar and Director Physical Education and Sports has congratulated the teams for their winning streak and making into the finals of the tournament.
