Aerial firing in Beerwah after stone pelting on polling staff

Srinagar: Government forces had to use aerial firing and tear smoke shelling after a polling staff party came under intense stone pelting at Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district Saturday.
Sources told Kashmir Reader that as the polling staff party reached the main market of Beerwah, scores of people raised anti-India slogans and pelted stones on it.
Government forces immediately resorted to aerial firing to disperse stone pelting protesters resulting in chaos in the area.
Local sources said that shopkeepers quickly downed their shutters and everyone started running for lives.
Budgam district is a part of central Kashmir Lok Sabha constituency which is going for by-polls on Sunday.
