Bandipora: With several localities submerged and roads blocked due to breach in rivulets triggered by incessant rains, authorities are nowhere seen at ground in Bandipora on Thursday.
Many areas were submerged after rivulets breached at many areas, which include Ajar, the locality where Deupty Commissioner’s residence is located.
The locals said that “the breach in the stream inundated several houses of the locality besides blocking the road to Sonawari area”
Many residential areas like Garoora, Hajin and Saderkoot are witnessing water logging, while as other rivulets have swelled up to the danger mark, which include a rivulet at Plan Bandipora. The locals while talking to Kashmir Reader said “we began to evacuate, besides shifted the household items to upper stories, as no help has reached us despite launching quarries with the administration”
Also Bandipora-Srinagar road was blocked after rains triggered mudslides at Saderkoot area. The mudslides have also snapped 33kv transmission lines which lay unattended on the road, local sources said.
Meanwhile snow coupled with rain continued in the area.
