SRINAGAR: The J&K High Court has directed Director FCS&CA to ensure release of salary to 16 employees working in the department or appear in person before it on 10 April.
The directions were passed by a single bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey while hearing a plea by the employees through their counsel S R Hussain.
The employees claim to have been promoted in terms of the judgment by court. However, they said, concerned officials “in order to settle scores with them” started harassing them in different ways including rescinding transfers orders.
The high court on 22 June last year stayed the rescinding order passed by the Director Consumer Affairs on 13.6.16. Hussain also submitted that despite petitioners having rendered their services at respective places, they are are not being paid their salary.
He invited attention of the court to a communication addressed by Financial Advisor of the department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to the Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Kashmir, asking him to release the salary of 13 Tehsil Supplies Officers posted in district Kargil out of sanctioned strength of Tehsil supply officers of Kashmir Division and keep the amount at the disposal of Assistant Director Kargil for the purpose of drawl of salary.
