Four injured after army vehicle hit load carrier in Bandipora

Bandipora: Four persons were injured while two of them critical after a speedy army vehicle hit an auto load carrier near Dangerpora area of Sumbal in Bandipora district on Tuesday.
The speedy army vehicle hit the load carrier driven by Mohammad Maqbool of Nowgam Sumbal resulting the injured of four person. The incident triggered protests in the area as people came out on streets and shouted pro freedom and anti-Army slogans.
The injured were identified as Mohammad Maqbool, Shabir Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad and Nisar Ahmad and were taken JVC for treatment.
The protesters blocked Bandipora-Srinagar Highway for hours together demanding action against the erring army driver.
Later a police party from Sumbal headed by SHO Mehbooba Banday visited the spot and assured the protesters a compensation.
He further assured them that a case will be registered against the driver and he will be arrested.
After the police assurance, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
