KCCI, KEA ask govt to exercise restraint

Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday condemned the killing of three innocent youngsters in Budgam on Tuesday. In a statement the KCCI said that the police highhandedness in stopping the ambulance carrying the body of a youngster in Hari Singh High Street and brutally assaulting the accompanying male and female relatives of one of the deceased youngster has sent shockwaves.
The government is called upon to restrain from causing killing of innocent people at this critical juncture, the statement said. “It is feared that if the situation is not dealt with sensitively it is likely to take an ugly turn reminiscent of previous times causing untold miseries to people in general and business community in particular,” the statement added.
In a separate statement, Kashmir Economic Alliance chairman Yaseen Khan described the Chadura killings as “cold blooded murder of Kashmiris”. There are mob control squads and equipment to deal with mobs yet the security forces resort to indiscriminate firing as if they are on the task of killing common Kashmiri people as indicated by the Army chief General Rawat,” Khan said.
“Government of India should immediately stop this bloodshed and instead should start a dialogue process with the Kashmiri people over the resolution of Kashmir issue,” he said.
