Baby girl snatched from mother

Handwara: A baby girl was snatched from her mother’s lap by two non-local women and a Sumo driver in Handwara on Tuesday.
Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that Mehfooza Begum wife of Tariq Ahmad Dar of village Kunan Poshpora boarded the Sumo vehicle from Kupwara. She was travelling to Handwara. When she reached near Handwara by pass road, the driver told her to get down as he was taking a detour.
As she was getting down, two non-local women snatched 25-day-old baby girl from her lap and pushed her off the vehicle while the driver sped away.
Passengers from another vehicle took injured Mehfooza to nearby police station where she told the police about the incident.
Handwara superintendent of police Handwara Gulam Jeelani told Kashmir Reader police are investigating the matter and they will solve the case soon.
Jeelani said baby’s pictures have been circulated to police stations.
